Summary of the January 2013 Visa Bulletin – Family-Based (FB)

Below is a summary of the January 2013 Visa Bulletin with respect to family-based petitions:
  • F1 continues to move forward.  F1 China and India all move forward by three (3) weeks to December 22, 2005.   F1 Mexico moves forward by only one (1) week to July 8, 1993 and F1 Philippines moves forward by eight (8) weeks to December 22, 1997.
  • F2A moves forward by one (1) month to September 22, 2010 to all chargeability areas including China, India, and Philippines.  F2A Mexico moves forward by one (1) month to September 1, 2010.
  • F2B Category for China and India all move forward by three (3) weeks to December 8, 2004.  F2B Mexico moves forward by three (3) weeks to November 22, 1992 while F2B Philippines moves forward by three (3) weeks to April 15, 2002.
  • F3 shows a forward movement for all chargeability areas including China and India which move forward by fourteen (14) days to June 22, 2002. A seven (7) day movement for chargeability areas including Mexico (March 08, 1993) and Philippines (August 8, 1992).
  • A slight movement for F4 for all areas of chargeability including China and India with a seven (7) day jump to April 08, 2001. F4 Mexico remains unchanged at July 22, 1996 and F4 Philippines moves forward by twenty-four (24) days to April 15, 1989.

Summary of the January 2013 Visa Bulletin – Employment-Based (EB)

Below is a summary of the January 2013 Visa Bulletin with respect to employment-based petitions:
  • EB1 remains current across the board.
  • EB2 for all chargeability areas including Mexico and Philippines are all now current.    EB2 India remains unchanged, again, at September 1, 2004.   EB-2 China moves forward by six (6) weeks to December 8, 2007.
  • Great news for EB3 applicants where all areas of chargeability shows forward movement. EB3 Mexico move forward by five (5) weeks to February 1, 2007. EB3 China moves forward by eleven (11) weeks to September 22, 2006. EB3 India moves forward by only one (1) week to November 8, 2002 while Philippines remains unchanged at August 15, 2006.
  • The “other worker” category moves forward by five (5) weeks for chargeability area of Mexico to February 1, 2007.  It remains unchanged at August 15, 2006 for Philippines and remains unchanged (again) at July 1, 2003 for China.  It moves forward by one (1) week for India to November 8, 2002.
  • EB4 and EB5 categories remain current and available for all chargeability areas including China, India, Mexico, and Philippines.
  • Certain Religious Workers preference is current for all areas of chargeability.
